La Bonne Marie the home of Debra & David and their dog Daisy.

Terms and conditions for renting.

Terms used:
The property: La Bonne Marie gite and its garden. We: The owners; Debra and David Worboys. Guests: The holiday makers and any visitors.

Purpose:
These terms and conditions are simply to explain how we operate our business and to avoid any misunderstandings.

Bookings and payment:

A booking becomes binding when it is confirmed in writing and a deposit is paid. The deposit is usually 20% of the total rental price (including rental of linen etc). This can be paid by bank transfer or by cheque. Please note that the booking is only binding when the payment has been received.

Balance payments are due to be paid in full 6 weeks before the date of the holiday, in addition a £100 dilapidation's deposit is required at this stage. The dilapidation deposit is held until the property can be inspected after departure, usually it is returned by post within 2-3 days. Any deductions from the dilapidation deposit will be communicated in writing before the balance is returned. Deductions may be taken to cover excessive cleaning costs or to cover minor breakages or damage. You can also opt to have the cost of the metered electricity used taken from this deposit.

Metered electricity: you will find a confirmation of the opening meter reading in the gite on your arrival. The meter will be read when you are ready to depart and the units charged at the rate given on the confirmation. This is either payable in Euros on departure day or can be deducted from the dilapidation deposit (at an agreed exchange rate).

Damages:

The dilapidation charge we hold is intended to cover any minor problems however if there is any Major damage, including accidental damage, that exceeds the deposit held then we will seek reimbursement, in full, for these damages at replacement costs.

Cancellations:

Cancellations less than 4 weeks before the date of your holiday will result in the loss of your deposit. If you give more than 4 weeks notice we would make every effort to re-let your holiday dates and if we are successful we would refund your deposit when the replacement holiday is paid for in full.

Insurance:

Guests are responsible for the insurance of their own possessions and valuables kept in the property.

Safety & simple house rules:

Guests are responsible for their own safety whilst on the property. Any safety issues or concerns should be notified to the owners immediately. Full printed versions of the basic house rules are available in the gite and should be read on your arrival.
